Operational Areas and Core Committees:

Seven operational areas are listed below.  Each area is managed by a Core Committee

 1.       Publicity & Advocacy   

The Network actively monitors the situation in Iran and present timely briefings and lead advocacy campaigns for public awareness. These efforts are publicized through various outlets, public statements, and joint letters.

 2.      Newsletters

The Network will publish periodic (at least once every quarter) newsletters, which provides updates on the progress of current projects, include relevant news and articles about Iran, and feature expert answers to frequently asked questions.

 3.      Research Projects

One of the main activities of the Network is for its members to propose and carry out expert projects, guided by academic freedom and within the framework of the Network’s  mission, vision, and agreed upon principles. The Network regularly releases research on relevant and timely topics approved by its governing body from its different operational areas, workgroups and project teams

4. Online Presence   

The Free Iran Scholars Network recognizes the importance of having an active online presence and plans to establish:

  1.   A website that serves as a central hub for information and resources.
  2.   A LinkedIn page to connect and engage with members of the professional community.
  3.   An active social media presence, leveraging platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, to share updates and connect with a wider audience.

By establishing a strong online presence, the Network hopes to reach a wider audience, provide easy access to information and resources, and foster a sense of community to raise awareness globally.

5. Membership 

Note:  The term member in this network refers to volunteers who participate in the network and believe in its core principles.  Membership does not imply the traditional formal parameters involved in membership of professional organizations. 

The Network prioritizes the importance of growing its membership base by establishing a dedicated membership team to promote and manage membership. This team will be responsible for:

  1.   Outreach to potential members to promote the benefits of membership.
  2.  Providing new members with support and resources to welcome and encourage  them to get involved and support their engagement.
  3.  Encouraging active participation and engagement among all members.
  4.  Developing and implementing strategies to retain and grow the membership base.

The membership team plays a critical role in building and sustaining the Network’s community and ensuring its continued growth and impact.

6. Student Chapter 

The Free Iran Scholars Network has established a student chapter to engage and empower the next generation of scholars and leaders. The student chapter serves as a platform for:

  1.   Supporting and mentoring young scholars and students.
  2.   Providing opportunities for leadership development and community service.
  3.   Fostering a sense of community and belonging among students.
  4.   Engaging students in the Network’s mission and initiatives.
  5.   Developing a pipeline for future Network leaders and supporters.

The student chapter plays an invaluable role in building a strong and vibrant future for the Network and will help ensure its continued success, impact and evolution.

 7.      Conferences 

 The Network holds public meetings and conferences (virtual and in person) that focuses on important and emerging issues in the ongoing movement for democracy in Iran.
